Capital City Acupuncture: Salem, Oregon’s leader in natural medicine and acupuncture
Dr. Katie Lundberg has a unique skillset she brings to Capital City Acupuncture & Natural Medicine. She has seen the impressive results that the combination of acupuncture and a naturopathic approach can have on a person’s quality of life as well as the speed of their recovery. With more than a decade of experience and many tools at her fingertips, Dr. Lundberg is able to design a treatment plan that is uniquely yours.
She earned her Naturopathic Medical degree and Masters in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine at Bastyr University and trained at Longhua hospital in Shanghai, China focusing on treatment of infertility, endometriosis, menopause, and dysmenorrhea. She has worked extensively supporting patients undergoing treatment for cancer, interning at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and has found acupuncture to be a very effective way to treat dry eyes and dry mouth, a common side effect of head and neck radiation. She has completed training with the late, Dr. Richard Tan and uses this along with Master Tung to address pain and completed a residency in Women’s health. Dr. Katie has participated in Remote Area Medical (RAM) bringing alternative medicine to Southwest Appalachia to improve the lives there and minimize addiction.
Dr. Katie is lucky to have had the opportunity to train under Mats Sexton LAc, a veteran eye disease specialist, to focus her practice on Chinese Ophthalmology, treating degenerative eye conditions including macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic neuropathy, and hereditary eye diseases like retinitis pigmentosa and Stargardt’s and she’s one of the few acupuncturists nationwide trained in these protocols. Having the knowledge of acupuncture along with the tools of Western medicine is a unique and effective combination to address these tough conditions. Her mission is to dramatically improve the quality of her patients’ lives and health.
